Recently, we've not only introduced grounding to Ian, but also chores. He really only has two official chores. 1) Taking out the bag of recyclables when the bin is full, and 2) Keep the drawer in the fridge full of bottled water. Neither of which are very regular and since he is still young, only get done when we prompt him. This morning when I went to grab a water, I realized it was it was empty. I mentioned this to Ian, who started to get right up and complete the task. I told him not to worry about it this morning (the bus was on its way), that he could take care of it later.
I realized tonight, the once full case of water next to the fridge was half gone. I asked Lonnie if Ian filled the bin. He said he did, and he did it without asking him to. He remembered from this morning.
Ian has his moments, but he really is a good kid. All I can say, is :).

Tell Ian that Papa and Grandma are very proud of him for remembering his chore. Kids really do like being helpful. It gives them a sense of self-worth, accomplishment and being part of the family team. Go Ian!
