Florida: Crescent Lake Park, St. Petersberg

On our way down to Janet's we stopped at this park. We were driving by and it just beckoned us. Sorry Janet and Jerry, but this park was the reason we were so late getting down to your house.

This is the strangest tree we have ever seen. It had branches that grew downward to the ground. It reminded us of stalactites that you find in caves.


In the rush for Elliot to get over to the playground, he of course stumbled.


While he was down, he discovered this purple flower that he kept for the duration of our visit to the park. It was mostly kept in my hand.

Well, this was Ian and Daddy walking underneath of it. I was taking the pictures on the other side. Nice zoom on the camera.

Mommy, I'm copying the song

On the way home from school yesterday, Daddy and the boys were listening to one particular song on Daddy's iPod. It was the MMM MMM MMM MMM song by the Crash Test Dummies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4WbwwhBmRk). Evidently, Ian wanted to listen to this song over and over again because it's about kids going to school.

When they finally got home, they were all sitting out in the car for while so I went out to investigate. As I get up to the open window, I hear the song playing.

Mommy: What are you guys doing?

Ian: Mommy, Mommy, I'm copying the song. (said as he tapped his finger on temple to show he was remembering it)

If Jenny Craig Only Knew Who They Were Marketing To

The TV was on last night and I do recall seeing the new Jenny Craig/Valerie Bertenelli commercial coming on as I was walking into the kitchen. It's the one where she is wearing a bikini and she dives backwards into a pool.

A few moments later Ian comes running into the kitchen all excited to tell me about this pill you can take that makes you this big (picture him pointing to the side of his stomach like he was skinnier), helps you learn how to dive into a pool and lets you wear all kinds of great clothes.

I think Jenny Craig just got themselves a new customer.

This reminds me of a joke.

Two young boys walked into a pharmacy one day, picked out a box of tampons and proceeded to the checkout counter.

The man at the counter asked the older boy, "Son, how old are you?"

The boy replied, "Eight."

The man continued, "Do you know what these are used for?"

The boy replied, "Not exactly, but they aren't for me. They're for him. He's my brother. He's four. We saw on TV that if you use these you would be able to swim and ride a bike. Right now, he can't do either one."

Ian's First Day of TBall

Doesn't Ian look like a natural born baseball player? How cute is he in his hat?



His first injury. An underhand throw to the mouth. And of course, it was by me, stepping in for the coach. If Ian had his way, that would have been the last of TBall.

Ian has been wanting a new scooter and we finally found the perfect one (blue and silver Hot Wheels!) while we were in CT. These pics were taken at the skatepark on the beach by Susan and Ed's house. I know, rainboots probably aren't best scootering shoes, but they are good for walking the beach on the way to the skatepark.

Our Trip to CT

Our friends Susan and Ed were great hosts while we were in CT.

On the ferris wheel inside Toys R Us in Times Square. Thankfully, we did not end up with the 'My little Pony' car.

And we saw Shrek the Musical!! Donkey was hilarious. As was Lord Farquaad. And the poor guy did the entire show on his knees.



It seems even a 2lb bag of M&Ms still makes a grumpy boy.

On the drive up, when we finally get to the most exciting part of the drive (through NYC), Ian falls asleep while watching a movie with brochures in hand.

Ian Packs for CT

Ian decided he was going to be helpful and pack for himself on Saturday. He did very well and managed to pack all the basics: socks, underwear, PJs, pants, and shirts. Mind you, he packed enough that we could have been away for weeks!

Ian and Isabella: Back Together Again

The boys started back at White Marsh Child Care yesterday and guess who was there! They were both very shy and very cute. Looking forward to more pictures like this!
